On our trip to England and Europe in 2007 we visited several wonderful horse breeders, among them Tom Price and his family in Wales . Tom and his family are passionate and dedicated breeders with a vision for Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. The own The Old Horse, The Midget Horse, The Producer, formerly known as The 25 Grand Horse, and until recently, Bob the Blagdon and Comanche. Those are only a few of the stallions they have used. I loved all of their horses and after a day of being driven through their pastures, I asked Tom to pick a stallion for me. He did, with an eye for horses developed over a lifetime of breeding. We named our colt The Heavy Horse of Wales in their honor. They called him Teddy. To my eye our stud colt was cute, fuzzy and the hairiest little horse I had ever seen: truly a Teddy Bear. I did not yet see the amazing horse which had been entrusted to us. Now with his baby coat has shed out, a beautifully conformed, perfectly balanced horse has emerged. We get compliments on him from breeders of all types of horses. He placed second in a large class of older yearlings in August of 07 and first in another large class at the Gypsy Vanner Show at the Oklahoma State Fair. We plan to train him to drive, give him lots of love and scratches and watch him grow. To us he is our sweet Teddy, always ready to come to the fence to say hi. Thank you Tom, Teddy is a gift and a treasure.
