Anna is a step forward for our breeding program. We selected our original core mares for their quality and thought very highly of Apple, who we purchased as a yearling. We made the difficult decision to sell her when Anna came along. (In our  breeding program, however tempting, we will rarely keep both dam and daughter.) The Apple-Hustler cross proved to be an amazing cross, as evidenced by both  SSFR Macintiosh and then SSFR Anna.  Anna is beautifully conformed with great movement and exceptionally silky, abundant feather.  We also love her white roaning and the fact that she is homozygous for paint.  Her first foal, SSFR Admiral, by Teddy is a hunk and her 2014 filly, SSFR Something Special, by Whiskey is just that, spcial.  Anna is bred to SSFR Deuces Wild for a 2018 foal and is proving to be quite an asset to our breeding program even though we are keeping mother and daughter in their case.  8/17
