Sahlem Country Optimus Prime

Kate has her red dun program and I wanted a sorrel skewbald (red paint) program. With a homozygous red base, all other colors in horses can be easily added. We had looked and looked for a second stallion to compliment Whiskey and our traditional mares. I had pretty much given up, but on our 34th wedding anniversary, I was taken to the barn to meet my present. Kate and Doug had found him, Sahlem’s Country Optimus Prime! Kate knew how much I had liked Prime Time but had returned home from the Sahlem’s with Whiskey, Sahlem’s Country Maker’s Mark. When this promising, sorrel paint son of Prime Time’s went up for sale, she contacted the Sahlem’s again. This beautifully balanced, sorrel paint traditional Gypsy Vanner colt is now part of our breeding program and I could not be more pleased with him. Prime is growing wonderfully and is begining his training. We look forward to his first babies in 2018. He covered some of our finest, Sovereign, BE, SSFR Queen of Hearts and SSFR Special Edition, Addie. 1/18.
